A collection of letters and documents relating to Victorian London (1859-1880), particularly the areas of Hampstead, Camden Town, Marylebone and Paddington, and a wide variety of subjects, some of which are road and bridge building, drainage and sewerage schemes, schools and housing, crime, workhouses, poor laws, epidemics and disease prevention, hospitals and asylums, posts and telegraphs, water supply, trams, railways and omnibuses, fire brigades, markets, breweries, education and insurance.
